Technology patent expert joins the Firm

(Washington, D.C. – September 22, 2020)—FisherBroyles, LLP, the first and largest distributed law firm in the world, is pleased to announce that Paul C. Goulet is joining the Firm’s highly regarded intellectual property practice.

Based in Washington, D.C. Paul focuses on litigating highly complex technology patent cases before the U.S. International Trade Commission.

Joel M. Ferdinand, the Firm’s Global General Counsel and Managing Partner of Litigation, said:

“Paul’s arrival aligns with both our regional and Firm-wide growth strategy. He brings unique skills to our already well-known intellectual property practice and will help us better serve our clients as we help them navigate the unique challenges presented by ITC litigation.

“The ITC’s expedited procedural schedules – typically ten months from institution of a case until trial—requires trial teams with technical backgrounds to immediately understand the technology, the procedural and substantive experience to navigate the special requirements of administrative legal proceedings, and the trial skills to be successful. Our strong client base in the technology and telecommunication sectors will dovetail exceptionally well with Paul’s experience and capabilities.”

Paul, the President-Elect of the ITC Trial Lawyers Association, brings over twenty years of experience litigating over 45 cases at the ITC.  Paul has focused on the telecommunications, electronics, and semiconductor industries, and also litigated diverse technologies including medical devices, industrial equipment, design automation tools, alkaline batteries, and a wide variety of consumer products.

Paul C. Goulet said:

“FisherBroyles’ unique model and depth of technical expertise offers the flexibility and adaptability to provide clients with the highest level of representation in the most efficient way. I look forward to joining an already superb intellectual property practice. I was also attracted by the talent the Firm has been recruiting, its transparency in operations and its considerable first mover advantage in using technology in a modern law firm.”
