Mark has over twenty years of legal experience in patent application preparation and prosecution, licensing and litigation support. Mark’s patent prosecution experience spans a wide array of technologies within the software, digital device, telecommunications, semiconductor device fabrication, electro-mechanical, and medical device arts.
As Assistant General Counsel for Intellectual Property and Transactions for TeleTech Holdings, Inc., a $1.5B public company (NASDAQ: TTEC), Mark was primarily responsible for intellectual property matters including all patent application preparation and prosecution. TeleTech is a customer relationship management (CRM) professional services and software-as-a-service (SaaS) company. Most of TeleTech’s patent applications are either software or telecommunications related.
As a Patent Attorney for U S WEST, Mark managed patent prosecution and the full range of intellectual property activities for two thirds of U S WEST’s divisions, including its Advanced Technologies (R&D), Wireless and Information Technologies (software development) divisions.
In private practice, Mark prepared and prosecuted numerous patent applications for AT&T Wireless, SAP SE , Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp. (TSMC).
Prior to pursuing his legal career, Mark worked as a Senior Hardware Engineer responsible for the design and integration of key architectural components in multiple mainframe-class computers.
Mark is a graduate from Carnegie Mellon University with a double major in Electrical Engineering and Software. He graduated cum laude from the John Marshall Law School, Chicago, Illinois in 1994.
