Michael Kochka’s practice encompasses all aspects of intellectual property law, with particular emphasis on patent prosecution. He has extensive experience in complex domestic and foreign patent prosecution in a broad range of technologies, including computer software, internet technology, social networking, wireless communication devices, display panels, power supplies, electrical devices, mechanical devices, medical instruments, and nutraceuticals. Mike is frequently consulted to assess the patentability of inventions and analyze the potential scope of protection available. He is a registered United States Patent Attorney.

Mike has broad industry and legal experience, having worked in the field of information security prior to attending law school. Mike relies on this unique experience to acquire patent protection for clients in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Mike is frequently consulted by inventors, engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs, in-house counsel, and corporate executives on developing worldwide patent prosecution strategies.

Mike earned his J.D. from Rutgers Law School and his M.B.A from Rutgers Business School. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Felician University (Lodi, NJ) where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics.

Mike is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Brehon Law Society.
