FisherBroyles partner Soren Lindstrom leads team as U.S. counsel to Japanese publicly-listed Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. in its acquisition of NKT Photonics.

FisherBroyles is pleased to have acted as U.S. counsel to Japanese publicly-listed Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. in its acquisition of NKT Photonics from Danish publicly-listed NKT for a consideration of approximately EUR 205 million.

Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. was founded in 1953 in Japan and today has more than 5,300 employees worldwide. Hamamatsu Photonics specializes in optical sensors, electric light sources, and other optical devices and instruments for scientific, technical, and medical use.

NKT Photonics is a leading supplier of high-performance fiber lasers and photonic crystal fibers. NKT Photonics’ main markets are Medical & Life Science, Industrial, Aerospace & Defense, and Quantum & Nano Technology, and its products include supercontinuum white light lasers, low noise fiber lasers, ultrafast lasers, and a wide range of specialty fibers.

The closing of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
