FisherBroyles – the first and world’s largest distributed law firm – celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Apr 6, 2022
New York, USA – April 6, 2022 – FisherBroyles, LLP, the first and world’s largest distributed law firm, is pleased to announce its 20th anniversary.
Founded in 2002 by James Fisher and Kevin Broyles, FisherBroyles has grown rapidly and achieved tremendous success. This anniversary is a continued validation of the Firm’s business model and strategy.
FisherBroyles pioneered the innovative, remote operating model that is now at the forefront of transforming the legal industry. It is materially different from other large law firms, who merely started to work virtually during the pandemic.
Following the technology recession in 2001, James Fisher and Kevin Broyles looked for a different and better way to practice law. Twenty years later, it has grown into an Am Law 200 firm with 300 partners practicing in 23 markets in the U.S. and U.K. The FisherBroyles of today has radically disrupted the way law firms operate, how partners collaborate, where employees work, and how client services are delivered.
FisherBroyles’ unique compensation model allows the Firm to operate a decentralized, semi-autonomous technology-enabled law that manages its distributed partnership and workforce. In January 2022, the Firm also reported consolidated fee revenue for 2021 of $136 million, which represents year-on-year growth of 29.8%.
Like any fast-growing organization, the Firm overcame several challenges during its unique development. However, its core strength has always been its dedicated Partners, staff, clients and vendors, many of whom have accompanied FisherBroyles for twenty years, building today’s Law Firm 2.0 ecosystem.
Via its revolutionary distributed model, FisherBroyles has demonstrated how to deliver the highest quality legal services most efficiently, while offering clients competitive rates, and creating a rewarding environment for individual partners. This is reinforced by the Firm’s commercial success, global presence, and high-profile, multi-billion-dollar cases entrusted to its Partners.
Kevin Broyles and James Fisher, Founding Partners at FisherBroyles, said:
“We are delighted to celebrate FisherBroyles’ 20th anniversary. The Partners’ efforts and contributions have been incredible and core to our continued success. Founded in 2002, FisherBroyles was borne out of our desire to create a law firm which would enable its partners to operate in the most efficient and effective manner.
“The journey to date has been hugely humbling, at times challenging but always rewarding. The Firm’s remarkable commercial success and unique culture of collaboration across a global partnership has surpassed everything we could have imagined in 2002. We want to thank everyone who has made FisherBroyles what it is today, and we are hugely excited by what the future holds.”
