As many employers may think they’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with the COVID-19 pandemic, a new workplace disease has arisen—monkeypox. Amy advised SHRM about the many legal issues employers must consider: the potential applicability and concomitant confidentiality requirements of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) as well as Title VII sex discrimination and retaliation concerns. Like with COVID-19, employers must take care to update their workplace policies.
