biography

Aoi Nawashiro is responsible for all aspects of trademark prosecution, starting with pre-filing counseling, rendering trademark registrability and clearance opinions, filing new applications and responses to office actions and shepherding applications through the examination process. She is well versed in post registration maintenance practice and has prepared pleadings and memoranda in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. She also handles trademark enforcement and settlement negotiations.

Aoi manages clients’ intellectual property portfolios, domestic and international, copyright registrations and title transfers. She counsels and advises clients on copyright infringement and protection issues, including copyright ownership, scope of copyright protection of certain subject matters, national treatment of foreign domiciles under U.S. law, and determining copyright terms in the U.S. Aoi counsels and advises clients on anti-counterfeiting measures, parallel imports, and other cross-border issues related to intellectual property protection and enforcement.  She drafts and negotiates intellectual ...
