FisherBroyles LLP, the world’s first and largest distributed law firm partnership, welcomes new partner Robert Lesko to the firm’s New York office.
An experienced commercial litigator, Mr. Lesko is the most recent attorney to join the unique Law Firm 2.0 model after previously working at an AmLaw 100 firm.
“We are very excited to have Rob join our Firm,” said Joel M. Ferdinand, General Counsel and Managing Partner – Litigation. “Rob brings with him decades of experience in complex commercial and contracts litigation, benefits and insurance litigation, and stop loss and catastrophe health insurance litigation, to name a few. The services he provides expand our deep litigation bench and add to the practical, results-oriented approach that our team employs.”
For Mr. Lesko, the Firm’s unique structure was one of the most important elements of his decision to join FisherBroyles.
“I was drawn to FisherBroyles by the Law Firm 2.0 model and the high quality and diverse practices of my new partners,” said Mr. Lesko.
“The business model very effectively incentivizes entrepreneurship and innovation by attorneys in the delivery of legal services, which I believe is essential for law firms to remain relevant in the twenty-first century. In particular, the model requires that each attorney strive to attain maximum efficiencies in their practice, and it directly rewards them for doing so.”
In addition to the Law Firm 2.0 model, Mr. Lesko is also looking forward to being part of a team that is comprised of attorneys who previously worked at some of the world’s top law firms.
“The Firm is comprised of highly accomplished professionals from some of the finest firms in the country practicing in a broad range of legal disciplines, which I believe will be of great value to the clients that I am privileged to serve,” said Mr. Lesko.
“FisherBroyles’ combination of accomplished legal talent and the spirit of innovation inherent in the Law Firm 2.0 model is especially unique in today’s legal marketplace.”
In his practice, Mr. Lesko works on commercial litigation, benefits and executive compensation, employment, and insurance matters.
Mr. Lesko deals with a diverse clientele in the business world, from smaller companies to some of the largest multinational corporations. He counsels these clients on a number of issues, including unfair business practices, consequential damages, intellectual property infringement, sale of goods (UCC), supply contracts, and distributorship.
Additionally, Mr. Lesko represents employers, insurers, fraternal benefits societies, employee benefit plans, and fiduciaries in a number of benefits and insurance litigation matters, including employee benefits and ERISA matters. Before joining FisherBroyles, Mr. Lesko served as a co-chair of the Life, Health, Disability & ERISA practice at an AmLaw 100 firm. He is a member of the Board of Directors for Concordia Plan Services and Board of Trustees for the Concordia Plans.
Mr. Lesko also counsels employers and management on various employment-related issues, such as discrimination, whistleblower, and wage-and-hour claims. Further, he works on consumer securities, stop loss and catastrophe health insurance, and warranty litigation.
Throughout his career, Mr. Lesko has demonstrated an impressive track record in the courtroom. In recent years, he has helped his clients secure a number of favorable verdicts. For instance, he won a summary judgment for the reimbursement of nearly $2 million for overpaid life insurance benefits.
Mr. Lesko received his bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College and earned his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law. He is licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Additionally, he is licensed to practice in California, though his license is not currently active there.
