Geoffrey Goodale, a Partner in the Washington, DC office of FisherBroyles and Co-Chair of the ABA Section of International Law’s Export Controls and Economic Sanctions Committee, was one of several top experts chosen to participate in a roundtable discussion on sanctions compliance and enforcement developments that has been published in the April 2017 issue of Financier Worldwide.

During the discussion, Mr. Goodale provided useful insights on sanctions enforcement strategies that the Trump Administration may utilize. For example, when asked how the sanctions landscape may evolve in 2017, Mr. Goodale stated that: “as indicated by the $1.19 billion in penalties against ZTE that have recently been announced [in March 2017], the US government has served notice to all that it will continue to enforce US sanctions vigilantly through multi-agency enforcement actions and will impose severe penalties against entities that commit sanctions violations.”
