FisherBroyles’ Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) group works closely with clients to develop practical and cost effective solutions to matters arising under federal, state and international EHS laws and regulations. Our experience includes providing interpretation and guidance, structuring company policies and practices, contributing to industry programs and initiatives, advising on real estate and property contamination matters, permitting plants and facilities, responding to and investigating incidents, and handling inspections and enforcement actions with EPA, OSHA and other federal and state EHS agencies. We have special expertise in the area of OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM) standard and are committed to working with our clients to prevent catastrophic events.
We also have substantial experience in CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, California’s Prop 65, PRP groups, CEQA/NEPA, defense of Natural Resource Damages (NRD) actions. allocation proceedings, hazardous waste requirements, water rights, cap and trade, environmental due diligence, remediation and treatment, environmental insurance, brownfields redevelopment, underground storage tank, hazardous materials transportation, and environmental issues arising out of bankruptcy.
Acquisitions and divestitures have significant EHS aspects, and we have supported sales, purchases and closures of major facilities and businesses here and abroad. We are experienced in structuring and supporting EHS and PSM audits and reviews, and we can serve as the contact EHS attorney for plants and businesses. Our experience also encompasses structuring and implementing EHS management systems for US and global operations.
EHS attorneys have served as environmental counsel for major corporations, have worked with and chaired committees for national and local trade associations, and have been directly involved in the legislative and regulatory process for major federal EHS initiatives. We have prepared presentations for company, trade association and legal meetings, and we can conduct in-house training on EHS topics for your organization.
