Dr. Joseph Kim’s practice involves all aspects of IP counseling, preparation and prosecution of patent applications, and in the creation and management of domestic and international patent portfolios for large and small companies. A few of the companies have successfully conducted IPO’s where Joe was the initial patent attorney assisting in the creation of IP for the start up companies.

Dr. Joseph Kim focuses primarily in the areas of biotechnology, nanotechnology, chemistry, biomedical devices, and simple mechanical patents. Joe has experience counseling and strategizing with clients regarding patent and licensing matters; rendering patentability, validity and non-infringement opinions; conducting intellectual property due diligence; and drafting and negotiating license agreements, as well as negotiating with universities on behalf of companies regarding IP matters.

Joe was a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent Office, working in the biotechnology group for many years.
